Bringing WaterFire to life has been a family journey for lifelong residents of the Yakima Valley, Jim and Gail Davis, with their son, Executive Chef Derrin Davis. Together, the WaterFire team creates a destination for your casual nights out and your special events.
Yakima is my home town. I love the valley, the people, the feel, its evolution and the smells. I’m excited to launch my dream of owning my own restaurant right here where I was born and raised. I’ve always shared a passion for culinary arts and hospitality. I earned my B.S. in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts in Providence Rhode Island, the very place where I was infected with the WaterFire! I simply dream of developing something amazing here at WaterFire for the guests and residents of the Yakima Valley. I’ve always found passion in finding new ways to experience flavors of the world, especially the Pacific Rim. The amazing agricultural abundance in our region creates the perfect canvas to bring those flavors to life. As Yakima evolves, the great restaurants in our valley inspire me. The amazing chefs who have come back to our valley are all going to continue to push each other forward. It’s a really cool time to be a part of the restaurant scene here in Yakima.
